Webbed Characters Hub

Webbed is a rescue story dressed as a physics toy. Knowing who wants what saves you from swinging into the wrong biome for an hour. This hub introduces the cast; deep pages live one click down.

Buddy and the boyfriend

Buddy is a female peacock jumping spider — millimetre-scale in real life, adventure-scale here. She webs, lasers, dances, and refuses to treat the bush as scenery. Her boyfriend loves shiny objects, which is exactly the wrong hobby when a satin bowerbird lives overhead. Their opening dance is the tutorial; their reunion is the ending.

The moth and the balloon

Patches the moth is the quest-giver in The Tree. He cannot fly the nest himself, so he drafts a hot-air balloon from old silk. You supply the politics: convince three insect cultures to contribute. The moth is also a Strictly Bugroom dance target. Details sit with the other helpers on Allies.

Colonies

• Ants — underground industry, larvae, pipes, a Mech-Ant that needs legs lashed on with silk.
• Bees — canopy orchids, pollen quotas, repairs, a princess, a lift home.
• Dung beetles — west hill, mud, a child in a dung ball, Mike and Wendy’s puddles, fuel.

The antagonist

The bowerbird is a male satin bowerbird doing what the species is famous for: decorating with blue and glitter. Kidnapping a sparkly spider is nest design, not a Saturday-morning vendetta. You still get to laser him.

Hidden faces

Mother Spider, a big fly, a robot spider, a redback, an ogre-faced spider, and a golden orb weaver exist mostly as sticker encounters. Dance with each species for Strictly Bugroom. Arachnophobe mode turns spiders into blobs but keeps names in the journal — see accessibility.

Webbed is single-player. Nobody else is coming to hold the balloon. Read Buddy if you want the protagonist, Allies if you are stuck on whose quest is whose, and Bowerbird if you want the boss’s natural-history joke explained.

Cast as a quest router

If a speech bubble mentions fuel, you are in dung beetle business even if you currently stand under an orchid. If it mentions larvae or comrades, go down. If it mentions pollen or a queen, go east. The moth is the only NPC allowed to talk about all three at once. Treating characters as a router beats treating the bush as a fog of war. The walkthrough is the ordered version of that router; this hub is the phonebook. Stickers add extra names (redback, ogre-faced, golden orb weaver) that do not route the balloon — they only route Collector. Keep those hunts for after credits unless you enjoy getting lost on purpose.
