Webbed System Requirements

PC specs, consoles, Deck, and where your save actually lives.

System Requirements and Platforms

Webbed is a GameMaker 2D game from 2021. It does not need a 2026 GPU. This page is the boring checklist people search before a sale: platforms, minimum PC spec, Deck, and save folders. For how to play, go back to Getting Started.

Platforms

  • Windows PC — Steam (app 1390350) and GOG. Steam is DRM-free if you launch the installed exe directly. Steam Cloud optional.
  • Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One — 2 February 2022. Same biomes, same 19 achievements/trophies, platform buttons on screen.
  • Steam Deck — Verified. Trackpads are excellent for weave aiming. See Controls.
  • Wikipedia listed Linux/macOS at PC launch; the current Steam storefront flag is Windows. If your library page disagrees, trust the store page you are buying from. Proton often just works; this wiki will not promise a native build that the store no longer lists.

There is no official mobile build. TapTap pages that scrape the Steam description are not an iOS port.

PC minimum (Steam)

  • OS: Windows 10
  • Memory: 1 GB RAM
  • Storage: 250 MB

That is the whole card. No GPU line because the pixel bush is light. If a laptop plays browser video, it will play Webbed. Full controller support is a Steam feature; keyboard and mouse remain the precise weave pair.

Saves and config

Windows config lives under %LOCALAPPDATA%\webbed\. Steam Cloud can overlay that. GOG uses its own cloud if you opt in. Console saves stay on the console. Mods can break achievements; the unmodded game is the 100% path. If a 2021 save lost trophy pops, patch notes cover the v1.02b achievement fix — re-trigger the action on a current build.

Accessibility hardware

Arachnophobe mode is a visual toggle, not a second download. Remapping lives in the pause menu. There is no story-skip. Frequent checkpoints mean spikes are a slap. The map is the journal, not a second app.

What this is not

Not a ray-tracing checklist. Not a promise that a toaster from 2008 still boots Windows 10. Not a codes page. Webbed is single-player, already released, $9.99-ish before sales. Sister titles Isopod and Wirm have their own store pages and their own spec sheets — do not install them expecting silk.

If the game will not start, verify files on Steam, then check the save folder is writable. If it starts and silk feels bad, that is a controls problem, not a GPU problem. Buy it, swing, and spend the leftover disk budget on the soundtrack DLC if you want the score without a rip.

Display and input footnotes

The game is a side-on 2D view. Ultrawide just gives you more bush. There is no FOV slider that changes physics. Full-screen hitching is usually a laptop power plan, not a missing DirectX pack. If weave aiming drifts, lower stick deadzone in the game menu rather than in Steam Input until you know which layer is guilty. PlayStation and Nintendo controllers work; follow on-screen glyphs after the nest. Family Sharing is allowed on Steam. There are no microtransactions. For the actual rescue, the walkthrough still matters more than this spec sheet. If you are choosing between Steam and GOG, pick Steam for Deck and achievements, GOG if you want files you can copy. Console is the couch option. None of those choices change The Tree. They only change which button glyph the nest tutorial draws. After install, spend your first ten minutes on silk, not on overlay FPS counters. Webbed will not stress a 2026 machine. It will stress your aim. That is the correct stress. Aim first. Benchmarks later.
